Amritsar, NFA Post: Consumer electronic goods manufacturer Dixon Technologies has sought Karnataka government’s assistance for its plans to set up a manufacturing plant in the state.

The Noida-based company’s management, led by Executive Chairman Sunil Vachani, met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C.N. Ashwath Narayan, who also holds the portfolio of the department of electronics, to seek 10-15 acres of land and other fiscal benefits from the state government, the company said in a statement.

It added that the government has responded positively to its plan and has promised for all assistance.

The project is expected to be implemented under the purview of the Karnataka Department of IT/BT and Electronics’ Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) Policy.

As per the ESDM policy, the company will be eligible for the subsidy and other concessions if it establishes the plant outside the region of Bengaluru Urban district. The company will also be asked to provide jobs to the local people, it said.

Karnataka government has identified few land parcels, and the company will be given land in any one of the locations of Masthenahalli or Mindenalli of Kolar district, or Haraluru of Bengaluru Rural district, or Harohally of Ramanagara, it said.

The Deputy Chief Minister has also directed deputy commissioners to facilitate Dixon Technologies’ request and extend all help in attracting the investment and housing the company’s manufacturing unit in the state.
